Queer LifeSpace Receives 2025 Horizons Foundation Community Issues Grant
We’re happy to announce that Queer LifeSpace (QLS) has been awarded a Community Issues Grant for 2025-2026 by our long-term partner the Horizons Foundation. This generous two-year grant allows us to continue providing affordable access to mental health services for the LGBTQIA+ community in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Bisexual Awareness Week in San Francisco
This week is Bisexual Awareness Week, a vital time to celebrate and recognize the experiences of bisexual+, pansexual, and queer individuals who often find themselves overlooked in discussions about the LGBTQIA+ community. Bisexual Awareness Week, which runs annually from September 16-23, aims to elevate bisexual visibility and combat the unique stigmas that bisexual people face both within and outside the queer community.
Flagging in the Park 2024: A Vibrant Day of Color, Community, and Celebration
The August 2024 gathering of Flagging in the Park was a vibrant celebration of life, art, and community held in the National AIDS Memorial Grove. Under the warm San Francisco sun (a rarity in August!), more than 300 people gathered to share in the beauty of flow arts — specifically, the art of flagging — which originated as a way to express freedom during the height of the AIDS crisis. This was the second time Queer LifeSpace was selected as a beneficiary, and it was a tremendous success. With the support of the Flagging in the Park community, the event raised $2,938 in donations, all of which will directly fund our mental health programs for LGBTQIA+ individuals.

Queer LifeSpace (QLS), a distinguished non-profit counseling agency dedicated to providing vital mental health services to the LGBTQIA+ community, is standing strong in its legal battle against its landlord, Regent West Ltd. The agency has filed a comprehensive cross-complaint in response to the landlord's baseless lawsuit, which seeks to extort unjustified payments from the organization despite an active lease agreement running through 2027.
Celebrating the 3rd Annual Transgender History Month
August marks the beginning of San Francisco’s 3rd Annual Transgender History Month, a pivotal time to recognize and celebrate the rich history and contributions of transgender individuals within the broader queer community. This month, the Office of Transgender Initiatives, alongside Mayor London Breed and other community leaders, kicked off the celebrations with a powerful flag-raising ceremony and inspiring speeches at SF City Hall.
