Victoria Leonard
Victoria Leonard (she/her) is a fourth year Clinical Psychology doctoral student at the University of San Francisco. Before joining Queer LifeSpace, Victoria counseled people with cancer and their loved ones, students, and health workers struggling with symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use, and grief. She was drawn to this practice after experiencing, again and again, the power of connection to alleviate suffering.
Victoria’s integrative approach is influenced by Buddhist mindfulness practices and her years working in Tanzania, South Africa, and Morocco. She strives to help her clients make meaning in their unique cultural contexts, celebrate their identities, and align their values and actions.
Victoria carefully guides clients in these processes using a variety of strengths-based approaches including acceptance and commitment therapy, somatic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, internal family systems, and trauma-sensitive mindfulness practice. Above all, Victoria hopes to provide her clients with a space to explore what living freely and fully means to them.
