Mikey LaBruna (he/they)

Mikey (he/they) is a 36-year-old queer male who is currently pursuing a master’s in Mental Health Counseling at Saybrook University. His experience working in restaurants and queer nightlife, paired with his graduate school training in humanistic, person-centered counseling has built a passion for working with clients wanting to focus on substance management, non-traditional relationship styles, and trauma-informed, strength-based empowerment.

Current theoretical modalities of interest include, but are not limited to Relational-Cultural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Liberation Psychology, IFS, and Gestalt Therapy. The goal for Mikey is to create a safe, welcoming, and warm space to uplift clients and help facilitate healthy change!

A recent San Franciscan transplant, Mikey enjoys cooking as well as eating yummy restaurant food, watching cartoons, going to drag shows, and laughing a lot! He believes that self-love, self-acceptance and laughter are key tenants to navigating this, at times, challenging world we live in.
