Estella Violet, AMFT
Estella (she/her) is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) and received her Master's in Counseling Psychology from the Wright Institute in 2021. Integrating a variety of approaches including Gestalt, existential, and narrative psychotherapy, she supports clients in the work of integration and authentic connection with themselves and their world. Therapy is a space for healing, but it is also important that we center joy, growth, and resilience in this work, and Estella strives to foster relationships that encourage clients to align their actions with the values they seek to embody. To this end, she does her best to integrate conversations about the social and political conditions that shape the challenges that each of us faces in the world, recognizing that it is impossible to treat mental health challenges on an individual level unless we are able to engage with the forces that produce and influence them.
As a client-centered therapist, Estella works with folks dealing with life challenges including anxiety, depression, shame, gender dysphoria, trauma, and issues with self-esteem. While she works with clients who hold a wide variety of identities within the queer community, she is particularly interested in working with transgender and gender non-conforming adults and adolescents and their families as well as individuals and partners involved in polyamorous and non-monogamous relationships.
Outside of work, Estella is also a multi-instrumental musician and video artist, and has toured extensively across North America as well as Europe.
