Post-Graduate Associateship

A unique opportunity for new clinicians who have recently completed their degree program.

Queer LifeSpace is offering an exciting opportunity for postgraduate associateships. You can be a part of a unique non-profit in San Francisco that specializes in serving the LGBTQIA+ community.

We are looking to interview potential associates who want to give at least 12 hours per week to our agency. Those 12 hours include 10 clinical hours and two group supervision hours. There will also be an opportunity to provide outreach to the community. All post-graduate associates should be willing to make a 12-month commitment to the program.

QLS is consistently propelling queer people to be helpers and professionals.

Queer LifeSpace’s vision and goals are to serve our wonderfully diverse community. To accomplish this, it is imperative that we continue to work towards reflecting this diversity in our clinicians that work with our client base.

Post-graduate associateships (formerly referred to as ‘interns’) are for clinicians who have completed their degree program and have received their registered associate # with the Board of Behavioral Sciences, or who will be expecting to be registered within 90 days of starting their associateship.

As part of our work towards serving our community and combatting the continued existence of employment discrimination and the general lack of diversity within the mental health profession, Queer LifeSpace has chosen to be an equal opportunity/affirmative action organization.

We accept post-graduate associateship applicants on a rolling, as needed basis. All interested individuals, but especially those who identify as people of color, disabled, HIV+, and transgender or gender variant, are strongly encouraged to apply. We also actively seek Spanish-speaking trainees and interns.

We accept the bulk of resumes in January and February of each year, but please feel free to apply to the program at any time during the year — we would love to chat with you!

Applicants can send a cover letter and resume to Chris Holleran, MFT, at cholleran@queerlifespace.org or call 415-358-2000 ext. 312.

To work 1-on-1 with queer POC and support them and their journey toward self-empowerment and self-love was probably the most impactful part of the experience.
