"I'll Go If You Go" Podcast feat. Queer LifeSpace's Outlandish! Program for Youth

Earlier this year, Queer LifeSpace’s very own Max Sovine was invited to guest on the Save the Redwoods League’s podcast, I’ll Go If You Go, to talk about QLS’ new outdoor wellness program, Outlandish!

Max draws upon their time spent in nature as a child and noticing the significant lack of queer representation in outdoor areas to explore the intertwining concepts of queerness and liminality.

Outlandish! is a new program from Queer LifeSpace. The program aims to bring LGBTQIA+ youth out into nature for day-long hikes and other activities. The participants, accompanied by qualified adults, are immersed in the natural world where they learn about themselves and the complex ecosystems around them. Read more about Outlandish! here.

Max’s masters degree in Ecology, Spirituality, and Religion from the California Institute of Integral Studies allowed them to dive deep into conventional Western culture’s aversion to death, nature, and queerness and how that paradigm can shift for not only the benefit of an individual, but for the benefit of one’s community and the Earth itself.
